Vic Bushfires

Victoria has been hit by some of the worst bushfires in Australian history. The impact of the fires will be both financially and emotionally significant for years to come. Current loss of life stands at around 100 with more expected. What surprises me is that the fires seemed to move so quickly. It causes me to ask why the people could not or did not get away.
